This monumental standing Medicine Buddha (Bhaisajyaguru) is crafted from solid bronze and dates from the mid-20th century (approx. 1930-1980). The statue stands on an elaborately carved lotus throne and holds a medicine bowl in its left hand, the traditional attribute of the Buddha of Healing. The warm bronze color is beautifully accentuated by natural blue-green copper patina that has developed over decades. Thanks to its impressive size and serene appearance, this makes an impressive object for an interior, meditation room, yoga studio or collection of Asian art.
