This rare Chinese Buddha statue from the late Qing Dynasty (18th/19th century) is an impressive example of sacred iron casting art. The Buddha is depicted in the Bhumisparsha Mudra, the moment when he calls upon the earth as a witness to his enlightenment. The combination of the heavy, robust cast iron and the refined, weathered gilding gives this object an exceptional spiritual presence.
At 1stbuddha, we believe in transparency through scientific research. This object has been extensively examined:
| Material | Cast iron (Iron-cast) with historic gilding |
| Dating | 18th - 19th Century (Qing Dynasty) |
| Condition | Good historical condition; authentic crack near the hand reveals the internal structure (see detail photos). |
"An honest and powerful object. The visible internal oxidation is the 'fingerprint' of history and offers the collector the ultimate guarantee of authenticity."
